Over four years and several continents, one camera (or several) followed the trail of garbage in cities, hillsides, mountains, and oceans. Following the process from collection, to transportation, and finally to waste disposal.
This is the motto of the film “Lixo Fora do Sítio” (“Matter out of Place”) in which director Nikolaus Geyrhalter uses a fixed camera and lets the scenes play themselves out through long sequences in real time.
This is a film released by Zero em Comportamento, which presents it in the municipal libraries of Marvila and Alcântara, and at the Cinema City Alvalade.
