Orteá is much more than a restaurant. It started out as the Botanista, a place with vegan food and delicious desserts, but it has grown
Vivian and Molina opened Gal in Anjos, Lisbon, a vegan café designed to be free of plastic and food waste.
The menu includes toasts, hummus, ciabattas and a variety of pastries, but always including the famous pastel de nata and croissants. The pancakes – one of the most popular dishes – are tall, fluffy and very tasty.
To accompany them, there are natural wines, craft beer and specialty coffee.
It’s also a meeting place for artisans – selling ceramics, photography and paintings – as well as a space for events such as yoga classes, workshops and special meals, such as Molina’s feijoada, which has already won fans.
