Do you like eating out and care about the impact of your choice of restaurants on the planet? Then this collection is for you. Learn more about this partnership between Zomato and Peggada.
Zomato is the app we all use to find restaurants. Peggada is the only platform to filter restaurants through sustainability criteria. Together, we have created the perfect partnership for those who like to eat out, but are concerned about the sustainability of this act of pleasure.
Taking advantage of Earth Day, which takes place on April 22, the two projects join forces to launch a collection that brings together sustainable spaces where you can enjoy a meal.
So far there are more than 40 certified restaurants, among them In Bocca al Lupo, Orteá – Vegan Collective, The Therapist and Semand this number will continue to grow throughout the partnership, which is intended to be long-lasting. To have the label and be part of Peggada’s certified collection, restaurants have to meet the criteria defined by Peggada, which range from the origin of the ingredients used in the menu, to the packaging used to preserve or serve them.
In order to create these criteria, Peggada spoke with producers, restaurant owners and journalists from the gastronomy area, so that with the insights of those who are inside the business, there was a list of criteria that would filter the spaces that care about the planet. These criteria range from whether they compost, to the origin of the products, or even if the leftovers are directed to projects such as Refood. For Peggada, this partnership is not only about the environment.
This partnership will also be a way to help spaces that do not yet meet all the ecological and sustainable requirements, encouraging them to improve their practices and reach this level of sustainability.
