They don’t stop even when everything makes you want to give up. They reinvent themselves whenever they need to, and this second confinement is proof of that.
The restaurants suggested by Peggada as being the most sustainable in the city, pass all this sustainability to the take away and deliveries regime.
And just as they ensure healthy food, made with the best ingredients and packed with the greatest care, we too can give a help. How? Ordering whenever possible. The restaurants thank you and the planet too.
Kitchen Dates
The pinnacle of sustainability is here. There are no plastics, out-of-season ingredients, packaged or easy paths. Everything is made from the ground up by Rui and Maria, who guarantee that nothing is wasted. In such a way that in this restaurant there is not even a dustbin. They rely only on the help of Eva, the name of the Compost that gives new life to the waste, which is delivered to the producers who guarantee them the freshest ingredients.
The menu varies every week and is available from Wednesday to Saturday.
The menu is always available on the site and, in addition to dishes such as the famous stuffed focaccia, raviolis or the pie of nutarroba for dessert, you can always order products from the grocery store. This is the case of the bread that Rui makes every day, almond butter, almond cheeses and natural wines.
Deliveries are made by this sustainability duo and can get everything right with them by ordering on the website.

Pequeno Café Bistrô
It’s really tiny – they don’t fit in there more than eight people – but it’s the most cozy you can find in Lisbon. Now that we can’t even sit there for a specialty coffee just left, we settle for take away orders, made with the same care as always.
The candy list is a sin. It has brownies, cookies, blondies, cakes and pies and, for those who prefer salty, a cheese or kiss bread, in the vegan version. Still, every week they prepare a special menu, with soup, dish and dessert, always served for lunch.
They’re present on the Takeaway platform, but if they live within a 2,5 km radius of the restaurant, they’re the ones making it all come home.

In take away times, the restaurant, always backed by the organic grocery store right next door, serves two main courses — one vegetarian and one fish or meat, plus soups and desserts.
If you are interested in lentil meatballs, cuttlefish feijoada, breaded tofu or turkey Thai pad with vegetables, just call, order, and get up there. Enjoy and fill the pantry at the grocery store.

Pigmeu, or rather, Reco Reco
Pigmeu, although it is a restaurant specializing in pork, is part of Peggada’s list of sustainable restaurants. Controversial, we know, but if even Kitchen Dates have already invited the chef of this space to cook together, it’s because the house is reliable.
The restaurant uses the animal entirely, the ingredients are those of the time and always come from local producers and fight for nothing to be wasted.
In times of confinement, they transformed the Pigmeu’s kitchen into a take away and delivery service, The Reco Reco, with a strong menu in quality sands and wines.
There are four famous sandwiches and pay attention to the decay of this description: alentejano pork bifanas bio da Herdade do Freixo do Meio in fermented sweet potato bread, handmade (9,75€), cheeseburger (11,50€) or double cheeseburger (14,50€), made with bio burgers from Herdade do Freixo do Meio, handmade bread, pickles, cheddar and secret sauce and the famous katsu sando of Alentejo pork (14€). Oh, and now they also have a vegetarian option, with an acorn burger and chickpeas. Orders are placed directly on the Reco Reco website, and you can choose the take away or home delivery mode.
