After a half-hearted July and an August totally dedicated to the art of resting, the country is back to its usual pace and, what’s more, it’s back in force.
There are a lot of stored ideas, and a lot of stagnant energy. The result? September is the month of all the events. Sustainable and non-sustainable, but here we want to highlight those that have the protection of the planet and changing habits as their main focus.
Cidade do Zero is back, this time at Tapada da Ajuda in Lisbon. It will be a free event about sustainability, food, consumption and mobility. The program includes talks, repair workshops, cooking classes, bartering and second-hand sales, and a market with only ethical brands.

“Without drama, but with urgency” is the motto of BOIL – Climate Festival, a festival to motivate climate action and encourage change in a positive, participatory and experiential way. The program includes a tour of art installations inspired by climate challenges; an exhibition on biodiversity; a film cycle at Casa Cinema Manoel de Oliveira, talks, and a silent disco.
It’s three days of activities that inspire and educate about sustainable practices. Greenfest Braga offers a platform to explore and celebrate sustainability in its many dimensions, promoting environmental awareness and commitment to a greener, more responsible future.
The aim of the Journey for the Climate is to show that it is possible to travel from the north to the south of the country in a sustainable way and with the greatest impact on the community. Over the course of 14 days, this trip will see three teams of four compete to complete a route from the north to the south of Portugal, passing through nine municipalities in the most sustainable way possible and, above all, with the greatest positive impact on communities.
Ponto d’Orvalho is a transdisciplinary festival open to discussion and environmental action through artistic, social and ecological interventions, and where gastronomy has a prominent place. The Association for the Solidarity Promotion of Sustainability in Human Mobility – EcoMood Portugal is once again promoting the European Mobility Week.
This year’s European theme is Shared Public Spaces and there are more than enough events:
8 Sep – Sintra Air Base, Open Base Day with the presence of electric karts, as well as bicycles, scooters and electric cars.

12 set – Parking Day na Bobadela, com atividades sociais, ambientais e culturais em lugares normalmente usados para estacionamento

13 set – Gaya Human Experience,com uma palestra sobre Mobilidade Integrada e Mentalidades Sustentáveis

14 set – Mobilidade Suave no Bobadela Vila Rock, um espaço com exposição e experimentação de bicicletas e trotinetas elétricas.

18 set – 2º Limpar o Tejo de Bicla, um passeio de bicicleta com recolha de resíduos, em Santa Iria de Azóia

20-22set – Festival FAVA, em Loulé, com a presença de veículos elétricos para sensibilizar a população para as potencialidades da mobilidade suave.
As part of the festival, on the 21st there’s the Peddy Challenge, a pedestrian mystery tour focusing on active mobility and sustainability

22set – Limpar o Lis de Biclia, uma acção de recolha de resíduos junto ao rio, utilizando bicicletas da plataforma municipal de partilha

28set – Greenfest Braga, com a presneça de veículos elétricos, incluindo a MariaBike, uma scooter elétrica made in Portugal.

27 – 29set – KidsKarts no evento Leiria Sobre Rodas.
Presença de karts elétricos que as crianças podem experimentar enquanto aprendem noções básicas de mobilidade elétrica, energia renovável e de desportos motorizados sustentáveis.

13 out – Kidical Mass na freguesia de Santa Iria de Azóia, São João da Talha e Bobadela (Loures), um passeio/manifestação de bicicleta, feito para sensibilizar a população para a importância da mobilidade suave.
