United to Remake is a Portuguese social innovation startup that wants to contribute actively and innovatively, in direct partnership with brands and other companies, to reducing waste and finding new ways of recycling and upcycling.
One of the main upcycling and circular economy projects is the “Give your suit a new wave” that allows the donation of used neoprene suits for donation to Associations, creation of upcycled pieces, or even shredded, in order to manufacture new products. The suits can be delivered to the Decathlon stores in Almada, Amadora (Alfragide), Cascais, Setúbal and Sintra.
In the online store it is also possible to find unique collections such as ecobottles – bottles made from cork waste and sugarcane biomass, talêgos alentejanos – fabric bags for shopping or other purposes that replace disposable ones, or the animal-shaped art pieces produced in partnership with Ocean Sole, a Kenya-based company that transforms discarded slippers, caught in the sea and rivers, into works of art. By cleaning up the Indian Ocean, this company promotes direct and sustainable employment opportunities.
