Slow Vanity
Conscious vanity. Sustainable, responsive and ethical fashion. Slow Vanity’s mission is to create value by offering garments made from waste; using high quality surplus stock
The brand’s concept was created in 2012, born out of the paradisiacal vision of an Indonesian island known for its perfect waves and the dreams of a 17-year-old boy whose passion for the tides led him to pursue other professional endeavors besides surfing. The arts of design and illustration are the means that Palu’s creator, João Velhinho, uses to reach an end. With the certainty that one wave is always followed by another. Better. And that those who run for pleasure – to the sea, to nature, to their country… – never tire.
So that the brand’s inspirations don’t stop growing with every purchase, the brochure that mirrors Palu’s identity carries mint seeds into customers’ homes. Just one detail that signals the brand’s concern for environmental sustainability factors. Palu, “Inspired by the sea, designed for you”.
It is very concerned with environmental sustainability, using water-based inks for printing and careful, 100% recyclable packaging. The production of the collections is subcontracted nationally.
The brand is also resolutely involved in social responsibility projects. It supports young surfers in Aveiro and embraces projects by Non-Governmental Development Organizations (NGDOs) in solidarity.

This project actively contributes to the reduction of waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse. This SDG also aims to reduce global food waste in production and consumption.
