Marita Moreno is a Portuguese fashion accessories brand where sustainability is the motto. The brand works with certified artisans who produce bags and small fashion accessories by hand, as well as handmade weavings in textiles and plant materials such as straw, which are used in the products that are made in small family-run factories within a 70km radius of the company’s headquarters.
The materials used to make the products are: Burel, bio-leather, malai, cork, vegan microfiber, pinatex, bananatex, wood, paper, desserto, Pacoba.tex – Banana substrate and Alfarroba.Tex – Alfarroba substrate. The following ecological soles are used: Sustainable VP – TPR and TPU soles, Eva Green, Crepe sole and ecological rubber sole.
The product boxes are made from recycled cardboard and the shipping containers are made from plants, corn to be precise, with a synthetic agent added to increase flexibility and that can be composted at home.
This project actively contributes to the reduction of waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse. This SDG also aims to reduce global food waste in production and consumption.
