The Porto City Council, in partnership with Hortee, a start-up specializing in the sale of fresh produce, has launched an app designed to make the purchase of organic products “more convenient” and affordable.
The Municipality of Porto, in partnership with Hortee, a Portuguese startup specializing in online fresh food sales, has launched a mobile application to allow digital access to the markets of the Good Food HUBs initiative. The aim is to make buying organic, seasonal, fresh and local products even more convenient and affordable.
The Hortee app is now available. Once you’ve registered, you can choose the fresh produce you want and the quantities, select the delivery location and make payments online. You can even talk to the producer directly after ordering to get more specific information.
Developed in conjunction with the company of the same name, a Portuguese startup committed to transforming the sale of fresh produce online, Hortee enables..:
Secure Transactions. It ensures the security of transactions, with all parties validating each operation completed on the web platform.
● Fair Prices. It offers access to fairer prices by allowing direct communication between producers and consumers.
● Fresh Produce. It guarantees freshly harvested products with full flavor, aroma and nutrients. To guarantee the maximum freshness of the food, it is harvested on the day of delivery or the day before. It is therefore suggested that orders are placed at least 24 hours in advance and will be confirmed before payment is made.
● Waste Reduction. It contributes to a reduction of up to 25% in food waste, since harvesting is carried out according to the volume of orders and does not require intermediaries.
● Local Production. All the food is sourced from within a 90 km radius of Porto, helping to reduce carbon emissions.
● Certified Producers. To guarantee the supply of healthy, organic products, all the producers have organic farming certificates.
