Redesigning the packaging, educating consumers, and investing in renewable energy are part of the brand’s commitment agenda.
By 2025, the Ferrero Group wants to have packaging that is 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable. According to the 13th edition of its Sustainability Report, this goal was reached by 83% in the year 2021.
Over the next three years, the company will focus its work on 4 pillars of sustainability: development and redesign of existing packaging, R&D
in Innovation, consumer education for the circular economy, and association with national waste management institutions. In addition, Ferrero intends to promote actions to fight waste, increase the recycled content in its plastic packaging or reduce virgin plastic by 10%, invest in renewable energy and reduce its carbon footprint by 43% per ton of product produced in 2030.
Also in terms of sustainability strategy, Ferrero Group signed the Ellen McArthur Foundation’s Global Commitment to the New Plastics Economy, trained farmers in Ivory Coast and Ghana on agricultural practices
