Rota das Cores is the realization of a project long thought out by Sónia Amaro, an accountant by profession, who in 2015 saw her life take a 180º turn due to a health problem of a very close person.
The search for natural, organic products, without chemicals and additives harmful to health and the environment, has become a priority. Making a change in consumption habits and consequently in the use and management of waste.
Gradually there was an awareness of the need to bring to Aveiro all these products, which until now were only purchased online. As well as, open ways to a healthier and more sustainable consumption, reducing the ecological footprint and environmental impact of today’s lifestyle.
At Rota das Cores you will find organic, certified, eco-friendly, reusable and sustainable products: for example Bee’s Wrap, a substitute for cling film, bamboo and stainless steel bottles, solid shampoo and conditioner, bamboo toothbrushes, organic essential oils, and a wide range of hygiene products. You can also find environmentally conscious footwear brands such as Zouri (where the sole is made of plastic bottles collected from the oceans and uses pineapple leaf to produce waterproof shoes) or Lemon Jelly (with a strong sustainability philosophy, reuses waste to produce 100% recycled boots), both Portuguese and vegan.
One of the novelties is bulk detergents. Customers can bring their own packaging or use jars that are always available free of charge. They take the detergent and the amount they want. All are plant-based, with no SLS, phosphates, brighteners, parabens, or dyes.
Rota das Cores also has a range of fully organic teas and infusions. We can find the not so well known yellow tea, the white, green, blue (oolong), red (pu-erh) and black tea. There is also a range of ‘Da Serra’ infusions all of which are of Portuguese origin.
By promoting Bulk sales, this business actively contributes to reducing global food waste in production and consumer. It also encourages the reduction of waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse.
