Vegood opened in Vila Real de Santo António, bringing a mix of the flavors of the world with those that are more typical of the
Grocery store focused on selling certified organic products, favoring local, regional and national producers who meet this requirement.
They also operate as a restaurant, always following this line of thinking and actions towards the environment.
They reuse the water from the air conditioning to water their vegetable garden, encourage customers to use the cardboard boxes from their orders to carry their purchases, don’t utilize single-use plastic and collect all their organic waste for composting.
Since 2019, the Mercearias have been awarded the Green Key in the Restaurants category for the good practices they develop in the areas of environmental and social sustainability.

Zomato and Peggada have teamed up to launch a new Eco and Sustainable Collection.
Zomato is the most widely used restaurant discovery app in Portugal. The updated content includes restaurant menus, photos, addresses and other information, users can also rate and give feedback on the restaurants. In Portugal, it has more than 2.5 million visits per month, being the most complete restaurant discovery platform for those looking for options to eat out, take-away service, reservations and contactless solutions for restaurants. To provide an even more complete experience, the company recently launched the Delivery service in the new Zomato app.
This project actively contributes to the reduction of waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse. This SDG also aims to reduce global food waste in production and consumption.
