Moliceiros in Aveiro will be electric by the end of 2025

The transition from the current moliceiros (typical Portuguese boats) to the electric version covers the 27 boats currently operating in the Ria de Aveiro and
The pieces on display are made from wasted materials, but also butts and even trash associated with the pandemic, such as masks and tests.
Bordalo II presents “Evilution”, his new solo exhibition, at Edu Hub Lisbon. The exhibition is a kind of retrospective, which includes works already known, but also three new series.
In this exhibition, and as has been usual in the work of this Portuguese artist, materials considered waste are used to draw attention to important causes.
To the magazine“Visão“, Bordalo II explains the name of the exhibition: “Evilution”. “The name is a duality between what is the evolution of my work and the evolution of humanity (…). It seems that we have been going backwards. Things that seemed obvious – the right to difference, abortion… – are again the subject of discussion. It leads me to believe that we take nothing for granted. It’s a contrarian evolution.”
The materials used range from plastic and metal waste, to wood and stone waste. He also used cigarette butts, but also waste that we associate with the last pandemic years: gloves, masks,
syringes and even tests.
The exhibition is on display from October 8 through December 11, from 2 pm to 8 pm (last entry at 7 pm), Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is free.
Liliana is from Lisbon with roots in Lamego and wherever she goes. She always had a greater love for Nature, and that's why she considers it's so important to preserve it. That's where her urgency for sustainability comes from. She is willing to share everything she's learned over the years with as many people as possible.
