Açaí com Granola does not look at sustainability as a theme, but as a behavior. It is the commitment to a sustainable future that defines their practices, from the creation to the development of the pieces.
The brand is Portuguese and seeks to have its production be national, although this is not always possible. They believe they must stimulate the local economy, and they know that by doing so they are also reducing the distances traveled (and consequent CO2 emissions into the atmosphere) during the transportation of the parts.
They value the work of each and every employee and ensure that it happens fairly.
They always prefer sustainable materials – not only knitwear like econyl, developed from plastic collected from the oceans, like old fishing nets and other polluting objects. In addition to the swimwear collections, they also have pieces created from deadstock, that is, wool and cotton that are are not being used at the factory and would be destroyed.
This project actively contributes to reduction of waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse. This SDG also aims to reduce global food waste in production and consumption.
