At AMAL, migrants and refugees have access to flexible job opportunities, enabling them to support their families financially, develop their skills, and integrate into their new communities.
In Arabic, ‘AMAL’ means ‘HOPE’. AMAL soaps are made by refugees and migrants from the MEERU | Abrir Caminho community. The profits promote the integration of migrants and refugees and their economic empowerment, based on the relational approach practiced by MEERU | Abrir Caminho.
AMAL uses natural ingredients to produce a biodegradable, vegan soap without palm oil.
AMAL’s artisanal production is inspired by the millennia-old soap-making traditions of Aleppo, Syria. The Aleppo soap is considered to be the oldest soap in the world.
