Thirst Project Portugal brings together teams of students aged 16 to 23 from all over the country. The aim is to raise funds to bring drinking water to critical areas in developing countries.
It was founded in 2008 in the United States and officially brought to Portugal in 2019, where it already has teams of young people in schools and colleges who organize various events to raise funds and awareness.
The Thirst Project builds drinking water boreholes in developing countries so that the women and children who used to walk 6 to 8 hours to the nearest borehole no longer have to, and can contribute economically to their community or go to school.
