There’s a new app that lets you record the hours you spend volunteering, which can be turned into benefits for the organizations where this practice is done.
Volunteer Day, which happens on December 5, was the motto for the launch of something innovative in this area: an application that allows all those who do volunteer work to register, account for the hours they dedicate to causes and also guarantees advantages for the organizations with which they collaborate.
In turn, volunteer work ends now having a double impact: not only does the app record all the hours spent volunteering, it also allows this number of volunteer hours to be converted into points that revert to non-profit organizations and can be exchanged for benefits and discounts offered by companies in the energy, food distribution, telecommunications and other sectors that join the project.
It is the new Volunteer Card mobile app, an initiative of ENTRAJUDA, in partnership with CASES-Cooperativa António Sérgio para a Economia Social and CPV-Confederação.
The app is linked to the volunteer portal, which includes a personal area where volunteers can check on their volunteering history and obtain statements proving their participation in the various initiatives. The Promoting Organizations also have their own space in the app, where they can register their volunteers and keep track of the hours they have worked.
