When you think of the Azores, your mind immediately fills with the colors green and blue, which, in themselves, could be synonymous with sustainability. However, this is no longer the case, as blue and green are now joined by the people. Built as a family farm in the early 17th century, Quinta do Bom Despacho<\/a> was completely refurbished in 2015 to provide accommodation and events with sustainability certification.<\/p>\n

There, you can unwind in one of the two common rooms or in the garden, swim in an organic pool free from chemicals, enjoy a unique experience in the sensory garden, or pick fresh vegetables and fruit directly from the farm to cook in one of the two available kitchens.<\/p>\n

Nieta Atelier<\/a> creates prototypes and design pieces, developing materials that harmonize deeply with the concepts of upcycling and recycling.<\/p>\n

Every year, the brand launches an “inside a hut” collection inspired by a region, using local materials and waste.<\/p>\n

This collection is made up of exclusive designs for new building materials, furniture, textiles and decorative pieces.<\/p>\n

Founded in March 2001 by a group of 17 people, the main aim of the Cooperativa Bio Az\u00f3rica<\/a> – Produtos de Agricultura Biol\u00f3gica C.R.L. is to encourage the production and consumption of organic products, respecting the environment and thus promoting nature conservation and biodiversity. <\/p>\n

In 2012, they opened the Casa da Vit\u00f3ria organic market. Today they also operate an online store and are distributors of organic products to all the islands of the Azores. <\/p>\n

Vida Nova – Vintage & Second Hand<\/a> is a project by partners Ricky Henriques and Jo\u00e3o Oliveira, Canadians with Azorean roots, focused on offering unique and exclusive clothing for both men and women.<\/p>\n

T-shirts, sweaters, jackets, pants, shorts, skirts and accessories are some of the items you can find in the store.<\/p>\n

Pico Island is the ideal place for those looking for sustainable tourism. At Ba\u00eda da Barca<\/a> you have direct access to the sea from the development, but you can also enjoy a small natural swimming pool.<\/p>\n

They use ecological detergents, provide reusable bottles, have rainwater tanks for use throughout the complex, among many other actions.<\/p>\n
