European Mobility Week takes place from September 16 to 22, but activities related to the theme have been extended until almost the end of October. In short, mobility is a theme for every day. September is a month of new beginnings and also a month full of important dates for those who care about the future of the planet: International Coastal Cleanup Day, European Car Free Day, World Rivers Day, National Sustainability Day, European Road Death Free Day, International Food Loss and Waste Awareness Day and also European Mobility Week.<\/p>\n

Mobility Week takes place from September 16 to 22, but the activities actually continue for the next few weeks. In this article, with the help of the Ecomood<\/a> association, we take stock of the most important things that have happened in the last two months in relation to more sustainable ways of getting around. <\/p>\n

It all started on September 8th, on the Open Base Day, at Sintra Air Base.<\/strong> Ecomood’s Green Experience included trying out Unfuel’s electric bikes and scooters and the MariaBike prototype ‘scooter’, made in Portugal. Caetano Auto was also present with 4 models of BYD electric cars, with test drives afterwards. And the big attraction, as usual, was the EcoVoltas, in which more than 18,000 people had the chance to ride a two-seater Ecokart Twin. <\/p>\n

On September 12 and 13, it was the turn of the (Park)ing Day format. Together with BGI \/ EIT Urban Mobility and the local parish council, Ecomood organized two events in the streets of Bobadela. The concept is to occupy car parking spaces, giving them back to the citizens and using them for other activities. There were debates, exhibitions and an experiment with a collection of classic bicycles. <\/p>\n

From September 20 to 22, Ecomood was at FAVA!, the Algarve Environmental and Vegan Fair, in Loul\u00e9.<\/strong> This time, as well as one of the Ecokart Twin and electric bikes, they also had a Martins e-Bike cargo bike, so that families could try out this way of getting around. Also in promotion of active mobility, on the 21st they organized the 1st Loul\u00e9 Peddy Challenge, a pedestrian mystery tour which, as well as passing through some of the city’s iconic sites, focused on sustainability. <\/p>\n

Mobility month came to an end on October 13th with the 6th edition of the Kidical Mass organized by the Santa Iria de Azoia, S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o da Talha and Bobadela Parish Council.<\/strong> This is an international movement, of which Ecomood is one of the national partners, which aims to promote more citizen-friendly cities, especially for young people. Twice a year there are bike rides for the whole family, with banners and slogans such as ‘The Street belongs to everyone’. <\/p>\n

In between, much more happened. Ecomood was present at the 1st edition of the Gaya Human Experience to show one of the Ecokart Twins and talk about integrated, healthy and happy mobility. They also attended Greenfest in Braga, the National Electric Vehicle Meeting, Ethical Assembly, CIMES – International Congress on Sustainable School Mobility and the Portugal Smart Cities Summit. They end this journey by attending the Planetiers World Gathering, in Aveiro, from October 27 to 29. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
