The measure will go ahead as early as 2025: the restaurants, commerce, and services will start paying only for the waste they produce<\/span> instead of an amount indexed to the water bill. For families, this measure will only arrive five years later, in 2030<\/span>. <\/p>\n

The news is reported by Jornal de Not\u00edcias<\/a>, which says that tariffs will now be calculated on the amount of waste collected. In practice, tariffs will<\/span> now be calculated on the amount of waste collected, measured in units of weight or estimated by the volume of containers, applying the user-pays principle<\/span>.<\/p>\n

On the table is a decree-law<\/a> published in Di\u00e1rio da Rep\u00fablica, which stipulates that“as of January 1, 2025<\/span>, tariffs for the commerce, services and restaurants<\/span> sector should no longer be indexed to water consumption”. As far as families are concerned, this change won’t happen until 2030.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
