There’s no longer any excuse not to buy second-hand gifts or to give away what you’ve been given but won’t use: a new study reveals that the Portuguese are open to the idea of giving and receiving second-hand products.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

We didn’t expect any other result from a study carried out by a used goods platform, but we decided to publish it because we believe it could be the start of something good. A study carried out by Wallapop<\/a>, a reused products platform, in partnership with mUp Research, reveals that the Portuguese are willing to receive and buy reused products this Christmas. This openness is due to the possibility of finding a unique product (37%) or the opportunity to give a second life to a product in perfect condition (28%).<\/p>\n

Another interesting fact is that the intention to give and receive second-hand products increased after the population surveyed had access to data showing the influence that reuse has on the environment, rising from 65% to 88% of people surveyed that said they would be open to buying a reused product as a Christmas present instead of a new one.<\/p>\n

With this result in mind, and with the aim of sharing the positive impact of these decisions with the entire community, users of the platform can now consult the economic and environmental savings of reused products uploaded to the Wallapop app.<\/p>\n

As for the categories of reused products most likely to be given as Christmas presents this year, books are the Portuguese people’s favorite gift (42%), followed by toys (32%) and small household appliances (28%). <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
