Choosing just a few names that are relevant in the world of sustainability was no easy task. It’s just that each one, even yours, counts for the “footprints” that create impact. But we were able to pick out five that really stand out. <\/p>\n

One such case is Bea Johnson, the name behind the Zero Waste movement and the famous five Rs<\/strong>, who for several years has continued to inspire people to do, just like her, more and better. <\/p>\n

Like her there are other names and voices that we could name for the fact that they continuously spread a message: Italian in Portugal Anna Masiello<\/a>which showed the reality of food waste in Portugal and created a brand that turns raincoats into waterproof jackets; Joana Guerra Tadeu<\/a>Portuguese activist for social and climate justice, not a fundamentalist; Janine Oliveira<\/a>which shows that it is possible to make a good cabidela and other vegan Portuguese recipes; and the The Trash Traveler<\/a> who goes around the world, including Portugal, collecting all the cigarette butts that shouldn’t be lying around. <\/p>\n

You can follow these too, but let’s talk about five other names you need to know. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

She got rid of all waste in 2008 and tried to get more people to do so through the Zero Waste movement. She started by experimenting at home to figure out the best method and then taught it to the world through social media, lectures, and a book. <\/p>\n

Bea Johnson<\/a> ‘s main rule is to follow the five Rs: refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot. We would add another one, repeat, so that you never lose the motivation of the also called “Zero Waste at Home” guru.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We cannot talk about Bea Johnson and follow with more names without first talking about Ana Milhazes<\/a>. She is the Portuguese version of the American in the sense that she is the founder of the zero waste movement in Portugal and also has a book that helps spread the message: “Vida Lixo Zero”. <\/p>\n

In the social networks she shares tips related to sustainability of the planet and well being – which must always be in balance. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
