Besides the great relief it would give the planet, it is believed that electric technology in aviation would transform cities, bringing airports closer to the centers, not causing so much air and noise pollution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Alice<\/em>, the first electric passenger plane, took off<\/a> for eight minutes at a height of 1,000 meters in the US state of Washington in September 2022.<\/p>\n

Two months later, the Australian airline Northern Territory Air Services placed an order for 20 electric aircraft to run passenger trips in what is one of the countries with the most dependence on air fleets.<\/p>\n

The world of aviation is changing. Many startups have already devoted their work to studying electric airplanes and electric flights, and several companies are already directing their efforts toward achieving all-electric flights, or achieving fully electric training planes, or investing more in sustainable air cab technology.<\/p>\n

By 2021, the aviation industry contributed 2% of total CO2 emissions.<\/strong> However, electric and sustainable solutions are still lagging behind, which gives strength to measures such as the introduction of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).<\/p>\n

David Doral, chief executive and founder of Dovetail Electric Aviation, confesses to The Guardian<\/a> that the current generation of batteries is not yet a good solution, nor is green hydrogen technology advanced enough to power flights, even with light aircraft. It reveals that, on the one hand, long-haul flights have no major sustainable solutions to present at the moment; but, on the other hand, short-haul flights could be close to reducing CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n

The road to moving away from fossil fuels in the aviation industry may still be a long one, but this news gives a boost to change.<\/p><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
