It’s March already, but it’s never too late to add one more resolution to the 2022 list: learn to ride a bike. <\/p>\n

There are only good reasons to do so, one of the first being that it promotes physical activity. The second is obvious in this day and age – saving on the exorbitant price of fuel – and the third reason is the same one that leads you to explore Peggada: reducing your environmental impact by trading in your car for your bicycle<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

According to the latest Copenhagenize Index<\/a>, a ranking of “Bike Friendly” cities, in 2019 the first place was given to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The podium was also occupied by Amsterdam, in Netherlands, and Paris, France. <\/p>\n

Decathlon<\/h2>\n

Decathlon has the bikes in the store and the training to teach you how to ride through the streets of Cascais. The beginner’s classes<\/a> are intended for people from 5 to 75 years old and last 50 minutes. <\/p>\n

During this time you will be able to learn how to ride a bicycle, but also inline skates or skateboard.<\/p>\n

A class starts at 13 euros and is available on Wednesdays from 3 pm to 5 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 7 pm. <\/p>\n

Clube LXCycling<\/h2>\n

Call for people over 15 who don’t know how to ride a bike: these classes are for you. <\/p>\n

It only takes three sessions with Clube LXCycling<\/a> to be able to pedal and control the bike. <\/p>\n

The course takes place at Parque do Calhau, in Monsanto, or at other locations on the day and hour indicated on the registration form.<\/p>\n

Speaking of which, you should fill it out online<\/a> and choose one of three options:<\/p>\n

1. Pack of three 60-minute classes: 50\u20ac, personal accident insurance included;<\/p>\n

2. Pack three 60-minute classes + bike: 60\u20ac, personal accident insurance included;<\/p>\n

3. Extra lessons of 60 min: 17\u20ac.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

C\u00e2mara Municipal de Lisboa (Lisbon City Hall)<\/h2>\n

If you are from Lisbon, the Cenas a Pedal<\/a> course is another option.<\/p>\n

The school was established in 2008 and since then has been giving rides to several people who thought they would never be able to balance on a bike. <\/p>\n

Ana Pereira and Bruno Santos are the project’s trainers, and besides giving bicycle classes to adults, they give initiation classes to children and teenagers, and even mechanics workshops. <\/strong> <\/p>\n

Courses are available from time to time and usually cost 20\u20ac per person. You can sign up here<\/a>. <\/p>\n
