Leiria has launched the “Mobis.Leiria” application and website, which provides up-to-the-minute information on various sectors of mobility in the city, from parking to buses and information on shared bicycles.
Last week, Leiria City Council launched the “Mobis.Leiria” mobility support platform, available on the Internet and as a mobile application.
In addition to the creation of a platform and an app, which will provide information on the municipality’s various mobility projects, the project also includes the installation of ten information panels next to the bus shelters with the most users, which, in addition to waiting times, will have data on bus timetables, maps and circuits, according to “Jornal de Notícias”. Powered by solar energy, the panels at the bus stops will have an audio system, allowing access for people who are blind or cannot read.
Mobis.Leiria also includes information on parking lots (public and private) and parking spaces, places with electric vehicle chargers (as well as their occupancy and charging speed), the entire urban public passenger transport network (Mobilis), and the “biclis” shared bicycle system (around 150 bicycles have already covered more than 43,000 kilometers).
Soon, it will also include the “ciclo expresso” (bicycle train to school) and environmental indicators of noise, air quality and weather data, measured on islands located in the city.
